Who We Are
North River Air is a licensed FAA pt 135 On-
demand charter service.
We are licensed and insured to fly
you anywhere in the State of Alaska. We are permitted to operate on most public lands in Alaska.
Pilots:
North River Air was started in 2012 by Taj Shoemaker. Taj has 10,000hrs of flying time, mostly in his home state of Alaska. His passion for wildlife and wild places drives the vision of North River Air.
Bob Eubank has flow everywhere in Alaska, done everything, and knows everyone. At least it seems that way–if you get a chance to visit with him you will agree. He has over 18,000hrs of flight time in Alaska.
Luke Tyrrell is a native Alaskan who was raised in a remote village, hunting camps, and traplines. He has over 6000 hours of flying in Alaska. His home in the Brooks Range is one of our keys to being able to provide a reliable service in that remote country.
Steve Kauffman is joining our team in 2023. Steve has over 6000 hours of flying in Alaska. He has extensive experience in floatplanes on rugged Kodiak Island and has flown the entire state as a long-haul charter captain.
Although we are all under one business and have our respective roles and titles–all of us are independent in that we own our own aircraft, are all FAA licensed mechanics, and are able to effectively work on our own in remote Alaska. That gives you, the customer, more flexibility. If you prefer to work with any one pilot you may use them as your point of contact.
